Powder Coating Services

Industrial Powder Coating Services

Willis Manufacturing launched its powder coating services in December of 2017. We are one of the few locations in this area who offer full custom metal fabrication and finishing services at the same location. We can now reduce our customers lead times and costs by offering powder coating in house.

So why powder coating?

The application of high performance coatings in powder form is the finishing method of choice for many industries.

Dry powder is fed into a spray gun where it is electrostatically charged. The parts to be coated are electrically grounded so that the charged particles are attracted to them and held there until melted and cured into a continuous, durable finish in the baking oven. The powder used in the process is specially selected to meet each customer's unique requirements.

Conditions to consider are primarily around the environment the part is intended to endure, such as outdoors, damp environments or near corrosive materials like salt. These details impact our recommendations to you.

The first step to ensuring a quality finish is to ensure the parts are clean and free of any debris, oils, and anything that would impede proper bonding of the paint. Then we mask and plug any edges or holes that we want to preserve the raw finish.

We spray the parts in a well lit and ventilated booth, with experienced technicians to make sure coverage is evenly applied.

We accommodate parts up to 12' ft in length. Batch oven allows us to accommodate almost any part in our oven, regardless of weight.

Inspection and quality control measures are the final stage before we ship your parts, or they become available for pickup.
